I am running around in 50k armour, 6k life and 500 regen but bleeds from tiny leapers in safe T10 still hurt like trucks, is there a bug or do bleeds hurt just way more now after the rework?
Edit: Same with traps in lab btw.
Edit2: Thanks everyone, I wonder if this is intentional, I have been defending armour for the longest time but boy GGG is making it harder and harder.

Armor does not reduce physical damage over time.
Only reduced dmg over time taken mods do that.
Armor only works at the initial hit for the bleed, but since armor is conteder for the worst stat to invest in since 2.0 arrived, you would be better dropping like 40k of your armor and getting life instead, at least that would bump up your regen a bit.
Lab traps deal damage based on your maximum hit points, can't be reduced by anything, but actually I think immortal call can make you immune to them.
And as a last advice, use a staunching flask.

Bleed damage is not reduced by armour, but will be reduced by any other sources of physical mitigation, such as endurance charges or Immortal Call.

Wow. that explains it. I usually go for fortify and endu charges, I just walked through everything in 2.6 on my champions.
First time in years I have armour (since I'm using aegis).
I am starting to wonder if there is a single situation where armour doesn't suck. ;)

Back in patch 2.6, armor would effectively reduce the bleeding damage you took, since the hit that caused the bleeding would be weaker. Now in 3.0, bleeding damage is no longer based on the hit itself, but rather the base damage of the enemy or player in general.
This means armor no longer reduces bleeding damage at any point, as its only calculated against % physical damage reduction modifiers like basalt or endurance charges.

Really? I did not know much about theese ailment changes but this puts armor on an all times low.

I think it's still worth investing in despite the changes. Bleeding damage is generally a non-issue due to flasks and stuff like Bloodgrip anyway. The real use of armor is not getting chunked by trash mobs when they happen to get too close or mob you from range. This is very noticeable when leveling a new character.

It is noticable while leveling, but irrelevant later in the game when you can just leech for whatever amount.
On an other note block also kind of sucks balls since like last league, you won't be able to block corpse explosions, they are like environmental things so not blockable/dodgeable (similar to EA when stacked on the walls in pvp) and that was the thing that killed me on T16 maps pretty often on my gladiator, offscreen DD mobs od DD totems, not being able to destroy the corpses of unique monsters with shatter/bleedsplosion/abyssal cry also just adds oil to the fire.
And with the introduction of the pantheon stunlock prevention eva builds or just life stacking builds are finally somewhat usable.
A thread I made yesterday about armor.

Not too many replies because people are too busy crying about the ES changes, guess they'll get used to it after a couple of leagues.

This has nothing to do with it being 'environmental' (spoilers: it's not environmental at all). They just deal secondary Damage, which is neither Attack nor Spell Damage - Block is specific to Attacks, Spell Block for Spells, so there is simply no Block for secondary Damage.
Secondary Damage can be identified as flat Damage that does not benefit from Spell Damage; Bear Traps and Infernal Blow explosions also deal secondary Damage, for example.

That's a problem on any character, though. You need to get rid of the corpses, vaal dd is great for that for example.

Armor vs Bleed got indirectly nerfed with the changes to Damage Over Time.
Before, you would mitigate a fairly large amount of Bleed since you are lowering the damage of the initial hit, which Bleed is based on. Now, that is not the case, so Armored characters would notice a notably large increase in damage they take from bleed compared to back then.

Report Forum Post

Intro & build description

So ive grinded for runaans back in the day I maxed it and hpb'ed it and it doesn't deal much dmg to drags or anything to that matter. Im wondering if the. This build needs axe with “ 60% chance for Bleeding inflicted with this Weapon to deal 100% more Damage” mod, which you can only get on Elder items. To get an axe like that, your best bet would be to craft one yourself. Bleed (referred as Bleeding in status icon) is an ailment that deals physical damage over time to the affected target. Moving targets suffer increased bleeding damage. Only physical damage hit can inflict bleed. As of current build of the game, all chance to bleed are grant to the weapon as local mod, or the chance is specific to the attack. Burning makes a character vulnerable to magic attacks, Bleeding can stack up to 5 times and deal more damage per stack, while Grossed Out prevents a character from eating food and also reduces healing capabilities. This is one of two status effects that appears in the Harry Potter Game Boy Color games and is inflicted by the Mucus Ad Nauseam spell. Well if you wanna deal the most dmg, go Ivern jungle! Even with a 0/20/0 you will deal most dmg, because of his Friend of the Forest oneshots jungle monsters so the dmg is broken! Doesen't work for dmg dealt to champs but its still pretty funny! And it works for dmg dealt to monsters! Hope i helped you with getting most dmg.

Recently added warcry skills have significantly buffed certain melee builds and this one is not an exception. Not only does this Earthquake build has high damage and good clear speed, it also has exceptional survivability due to max block and spell block, decent chance to evade attacks and high armour.

Build Pros

  • Very tanky, has multiple layers of defense
  • Fast clear due to high AoE of Earthquake skill
  • Can clear maps well with minimal currency investment
  • Good single target damage for a build this tanky

Build Cons

  • Unique items this build uses will probably be quite expensive early on

Tip: Click on the item to view it on PoE Wiki or to view similar rare items in poe.trade

Helmet

Rare Armour + Evasion Helmet

Look for rare armour + evasion helmet with at least 70 life, some intelligence and resistances. Try to get one with at least 300 armour and 300 evasion.

Body Armour

Rare Astal Plate

Does Bleed In League Deal More Dmg File

Look for 6-linked Astral Plate, good idea is to use Celestial Justicar divination cards.

Craft it using Pristmatic + Serrated and optionally Prismatic fossils.

Main mods to look for is at least 90 life, Socketed Gems are Supported by Level 1 Maim and
Socketed Attacks have -15 to Total Mana Cost.
If you get resistances on top of these 3 mods, it’s ideal.

Gloves

Rare Spiked Gloves

Look for rare Spiked gloves.

Does Bleed In League Deal More Dmg 2

Mods to look for:
at least 80 to maximum life, some physical damage to attacks and as high elemental resistances as you can get.

You could also go with gloves that has Vulnerability on Hit corruption, giving your more versatility in terms of ring choice, since good ring with Vulnerability on hit will be really expensive.

Boots

Rare Armour + Evasion boots

Look for rare armour + evasion boots with at least 70 life, 30% increased movement speed and resistances.

Left Ring

Circle of Guilt

Look for Circle of Guilt with Herald of Purity has x% increased Buff effect and Herald of Purity has x% reduced Mana Reservation. Look for a ring with as high rolls as possible.

Right Ring

Rare Ring with Vulnerability on Hit

On our rare ring, we need Curse enemies with level 5 vulnerability on hit mod. Rings with this mod only drop in Azurite mine, so a good ring with this mod, life and resistance can be expensive.

Alternatively, you can try getting gloves with Vulnerability on hit corruption. Then you can get a regular Steel Ring with high life, physical damage to attacks and resistances.

Amulet

Rare Amulet with Elder Influence

Look for rare amulet with Elder Influence.
The main mod we are looking for is Physical damage over time multiplier, the higher the better.
Other good mods would be #-# physical damage to attacks, life and resistances.

Belt

Ryslatha's Coil

Really good belt for bleed builds.
Not only it gives us huge damage boost, it also has high life and 50 life recovery when we stun, which we do often.

1Hand Weapon

Rare 1-Handed Siege Axe with Elder Influence

This build needs axe with 60% chance for Bleeding inflicted with this Weapon to deal 100% more Damage” mod, which you can only get on Elder items.

To get an axe like that, your best bet would be to craft one yourself. Use 2 socket resonators with Jagged and Corroded fossils – you are looking for the previously mentioned 100% more damage bleed mod together with high physical damage mod.

Offhand

The Surrender

This is an excellent shield for the build, although it’s pretty expensive. Since we block very often, it gives us tons of survivability in terms of life recovery on block. Reckoning also gives some extra damage.

Since you probably won’t be able to get The Surrender right off the bat, Lioneye’s Remorse is a good cheap shield to use until then.

Jewel

Jewel Setup

On jewels look for following mods:

1.) Increased maximum life
2.) Increased global phsyical damage, damage with bleeding, damage over time
3.) Resistances or attributes if you are lacking them

Flask

Flask Setup

1.) Divine Life flask with instant recovery and bleed removal
2.) Quicksilver flask of Adrenaline
3.) Silver Flask with freeze removal
4.) Quartz Flask with curse removal
5.) Rumi’s Concoction

This build is based on Kogaras EQ Gladiator –his twitch stream.
